Yellowstone in Two Weeks

Yellowstone in Two Weeks

Everything is scheduled and set! Flying into Rapid City and taking 2 days to see Mt. Rushmore. This is one of the first places that Betty told me that she wanted to see if we were going to travel the US. It really wasn’t on my top ten list, but it’s close enough to Yellowstone to make a stop there. So, we will see Mt. Rushmore and The Badlands. We are going to stay in a great little place that an Austrian Couple own called Coyote Blues Village Bed and Breakfast. That should be really nice. They serve a genuine European breakfast.

Then its off to the Devils Tower and on to Yellowstone from there. Speaking of Devils Tower, I am certainly bringing my camera and fully expect to take some night-time photos throughout this trip. My plan is to take a nice Milky Way picture with the tower. So, I had to take a small Milky Way workshop here in Jersey a few weekends ago. Started at 10 PM and lasted until almost 4 AM at the Barnegat Lighthouse on Long Beach Island. Here is my first Milky Way picture. Untouched I might add.

Not bad for a first night out. If you look really hard you can see it. I hope to perfect this as we travel through Wyoming. We will be looking for wildlife and landscapes. I understand there are wild horses roaming the range in Wyoming. Perhaps we will get to see those as well.

We will be staying at three entrances to Yellowstone, the Eastern, the Northern and then in Jackson Hole which is the Southern Entrance. That will give us plenty of time to explore this huge park. We will see it by sections closest to the hotels we are staying at.

I am also planning on taking a Yellowstone wildlife tour. They leave either very early in the morning or around dusk because that’s when the animals are most active. I will hopefully load this site up with pictures upon our return.

Well, just wanted to give an update and share my milky way photo. Here’s another composition. Binoculars looking into the stars!

Enjoy the ride and always look to the stars!
