April 2018 – Update on Travel

April 2018

Well, a short update on Betty and I. I haven’t been able to do much writing the past few months. I ended up in the hospital with the flu and pneumonia. The result of that is “I’m fine” and well on the road to recovery. At the point now where it’s all about getting my strength and endurance back. Betty had cancelled her trip to visit her family in Brazil because I was in the hospital and ultimately we decided it might be too much for me to get back in shape as well as function effectively in the heights of the Andes Mountains in Peru. So there went the May Machu Picchu trip.

In the meantime, taxes were due, work continues and the winter just dragged on and on in the Northeast. So we are trying to plan something a little closer and less strenuous for May. Betty is returning from her postponed trip to Brazil tomorrow and we are going to try and figure out what to do in May. Believe me, you will be the first to know.

Met with a few friends tonight at a wake and the discussion was centered around retirement and when are you ready and what are you going to do? There seems to be a lot of indecision about whether or not your ready financially. I believe that everyone is ready to do it and can find things to do to occupy their time. the problem is, with people living longer and longer, do you have enough money to get you through the years without becoming a burden on your children down the road.

Enough for tonight. Discussions start tomorrow about a destination for May and then the research and writing will begin.

Stay Tuned!
