As always, things cross your desk or on the internet as you look for the next adventure that you want to have.

We are not much for lying on a beach, sun tanning and drinking ourselves into oblivion. We are active and always on the move. Hiking, bicycling, exploring and discovering new places and sights is what we truly enjoy.

We have been thinking of a place to go that won’t be too far away since we both still work and free time comes in a somewhat limited timeframe.

Should we go to Iceland? My daughter just came back from there from a Thanksgiving quick vacation. It’s only five and a half hours away from New York.  We are looking for someplace that could warm us up at this time of the year and I don’t think that Iceland is going to do it.

Outside of a lazy Carribean all inclusive, Florida or Mexico, what is going to satisfy this Backroads Wanderer?

Along comes an email from Tripmasters.com ! Bogota and Cartagena, Colombia. I look at the price. I look at the travel time. Bam! This sounds like it could be the trip.
