Favorite Places and Links

I always believe that if someone finds a good thing, they should share it.

Below, by country or city are the links of the places that I have mentioned throughout our travels. They could be a hotel, an activity or a restaurant. These were places that we selected and I am certain that there are many more of equal or better caliber. Keep in mind that many activities such as restaurants are truly a matter of taste.

Foz de Iguazzu, Brazil

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas   –   Expensive but worth it! If you are going to Iguassu you may as well make it a memorable time. You are in the park and have all the before and after closing hours to yourself. You don’t have to wait for it to open. The accommodations are 5 Star and I don’t believe anyone would be disappointed!

Panama

Gamboa Rainforest Resort   –  This place was fantastic. In the jungle you wake to the sounds of animals all around. Close to all kinds of nature trails and bird-watching.

Hilton Hotel – As you can always expect, the Hilton brand just does not let you down. The rooms, restaurants and accommodations are excellent.

Colombia

Hilton Hotel Bogota – As they describe it on their website “the best hotel in Bogota.” It’s all about the location. From this Hilton you can visit every section of Bogota. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. They were able to effectively communicate in English even though I was in their Spanish speaking country.

Hotel Las Americas – We were very undecided on whether to stay in the old city or outside at a beach resort. We were very glad that we selected this resort. Not that the hotels were not beautiful in the Old City, but it did give us an opportunity to walk out of our room and onto the beach. Truly a first class resort with all the amenities that you could ask for. The rooms are great and the employees, no matter what their duties were polite and helpful.

Black Hills, South Dakota

We stayed at a beautiful bed and breakfast, Coyote Blues Village B & B just outside of Rapid City, SD and convenient to everything you would want in the area. The Swiss couple, Hans Peter and Christine were just wonderful. The place was spotless and the breakfast was great. The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Cutler National Forest and many other sights are close by.

Yellowstone National Park

Although not in the park, we enjoyed our stay at two places just outside, one in Wapiti, WY and the other in Jackson, WY. Need to get the full names and sites.
